Harry’s horse Exceed saddle pad

Ola ola,

If you live in the Netherlands and have managed to avoid the whole Bucas Recuptex hype, then you literally must be living under a stone.

Now Harry’s Horse have created a saddle pad with the same idea. It is meant to have 3D ceramic inside that provides heat waves that will relax the horses back and works against inflammations.

To be honest I have no idea if it works or not, but seems interesting. Considering Grumpy’s back is bad, such products always catches my attention.

The saddle pad can be bought over at Epplejeck for 44.95 euro.

If you have tried it, please let me know your thoughts about it!

Harry’s Horse Highliner fleece stable rug

Ola ola,

I am having the most lazy Sunday ever. After 3 days of busy socialising I’ve been spending the whole day on the sofa watching tv. Sometimes those are the best Sundays to be had. However the point of this post is to talk about Grumpy’s new rug and not my lazy ways.

As you can imagine, boyfriend did raise a brow when I bought this one. Considering my trunk is filled up to the brim with rugs he did not think I needed another one. I probably could have survived without, but I simply choose not to. haha

2018-10-19 09.39.17

Since the summer has really stretched out here in the Netherlands, I felt I needed a rug that could cater to the cold mornings, but warmer days. In the beginning I did want to buy the 50 gram Bucas Celtic rug, but considering the price is above 100 euro, I felt I didn’t want to spend that much money on a rug that was only for a couple of weeks.

After thorough searching, I came across the new Highliner stable rug from Harry’s Horse. I’ve never owned any rugs from this line before, but several stable mates have had them and they always look good. It was more or less the only rug I could find that was 0 gram, had a fleece inner and was well put together. With 25% at Divoza, the rug turned out to be 50 euro. You might ask me why I didn’t just go for a summer rug, but I must admit I do not like the summer rugs on sale at the moment. The fabric of the Bucas one comes across terrible to me and I ended up giving away the one I had last year. This one feel like you get way more for your money.

As said it has a fleece inner, two surcingles under the belly as well as two around the back legs, and protection for neck and tail. I was really surprised of the quality for the price I paid. I did have to change it for a smaller size as they do fit very large, but the fit overall is very nice. Grumpy is normally a size 195, in this one he is a 185.

If you are looking for a rug for the months where the weather is really in between hot and cold this is a great rug for a good price.

ps. Not sponsored, bought it myself 🙂

Harry’s Horse Magnetic boots

Ola Ola,

Finally and then I mean finally is the equestrian world starting to innovate more and more. Out with the old stuffy thoughts and in with the new ones. Now people just need to adjust their brains to all these new products and we are good to go!

Not so long ago Harry’s Horse launched a new boots with magnets. This is a protective tendon boots which is great for horses who often gets stable feet, for transporting and so forth. The magnets in the boot increases blood flow which again can heal injuries faster. Whether this is scientifically proved, I’m not sure, but I’m just happy to see brands trying out new stuff.

You can buy them at Epplejeck for 79.90€ for a pair.

Harry’s horse Centaur

Ola Ola.

Another interesting product launch. This cap from Harry’s Horse called Centaur will launch mid April and have the price range of about 100 euro.

Looking a bit like Samshields without the hefty price tag. I actually think the blue one could be really nice for competitions. Now I keep looking at them I really like the black one as well.

What do you think?

Same Same, but different / Glitter cap

same same.jpg

Same same, but different will be a new line of posts where I find two products that look similar, but come at two completely different price points.

The first out is the “glitter” cap from Charles Owen YR8 and the Harry’s Horses Galaxy cap. I’ve seen both cap’s up close and must say they are both beautiful and well crafted. The first time I saw the one from Harry’s Horses I totally mistaken it for the one from Charles Owen.

The Harry’s Horse Galaxy can be bought here and the Charles Owen here.

Which one do you like the best?

Winter stable rugs guide 2016/2017

Even tough I would like summer to last forever, it unfortunately doesn’t and winter is upon us. The weather man even told me that it will be as cold as 4c during the night next week. This means its time to look at winter rugs.

One can become dizzy when you look at all the rugs at the marked at the moment. There is so many different ones, depending on what you need. In this post I have chosen to look at winter stable rugs in different prices and grams. It will start at 50 gram and move upwards.

Here you can see a small temperature guide which can give you  an indication on when to put on which rugs.

turnoutwardrobeguide

Please note that some of the rugs below have the option to be combinated with a liner, but I have chosen not to include this info and only focus on that specific rug. However if you are interested in these, then you should check out the websites of Bucas and Horseware as these are the two brands offering this at the moment. I personally do not like it as I’ve found that the liners end up sliding and not laying well.

I’ve chosen not to say which ones are best as everyone has a different preference, though Bucas and Horseware is known for being the best in the business, but it depends how nice your horse is to his/her rug and what type of style and needs you have. I personally use mostly Horseware Amigo as these fit well on Mr.Grumpy and price/duration is good. Of course there are plenty more brands and rugs out there then the rugs below, but these are the most common ones at the moment. By the way, surprises me that neither Eskadron or BR rugs are easy to find, they are available, but I’ve looked at 10 different sites and none of these were selling rugs from these two brands. Get your game on guys.

I will by the way do turnout rug guide for those horses living outside or being outside a lot in another post.

Riding training pants

Lately I’ve noticed that more and more brands are coming with “training” riding pants or breeches like some would say. I don’t fully understand where this come from as I don’t really think it looks very classy, but my guess is that it comes from many riding pants just simply being so uncomfy. The riding world is definitely made for tall and skinny people. I can’t count how many times I’ve stood in a fitting room and tried on tons of different brands and pants and nothing fitted. Hence why I buy the same pant over and over again.

But now I went off track here, this was not what this post was about, it was about “training pants”. Have any of you tried these pants? Most of my jogging pants generally become quite a lot bigger  after a while, so I wonder if its the same for these. The ones from hooks looks quite comfy, but I wonder how it is sitting in the saddle with them, if you know what I mean..

Harry’s horse – 69.95 euro

100385-10-16100-upp-fra-05100385-10-16100-upp-bak-05
Hooks Europe – 79.95.
I think I’ more of a “classy equestrian”, I don’t think these fit with boots, but for the younger generation their probably perfect. Specially for those days you spend the whole day in the stable.

3 for 2

Of course when you’ve given yourself a shopping ban and have absolutely no money, you get an email that Epplejeck has sales on with pay for 2 things, get 3. I don’t really need anything besides competition shirt and jacket, but as a shopping crazy woman, there are of course things I wouldn’t mind to have.

Aint I colorful? haha

  1. Kingsland competition jacket
  2. Euro-star competition shirt
  3. Harry’s horse breeches
  4. Kingsland sweat rug
  5. Eskadron tendon boots
  6. Kingsland saddle pad
  7. Sprenger bit
  8. Sprenger spurs
  9. Kieffer rubber reins
  10. Kingsland passport holder
